Somebody was wearing a T-shirt in work yesterday with part of this quote on it. I hadn’t heard it (or read it I suppose) in years. It was a nice reminder at a point in the day where things felt, if not stagnent, a little less fluid than they ought to be.
While scanning some odds ’n’ ends online (like the above video) I also discovered that it’s only a few days after the anniversary of the death of Lee’s son Brandon.
Like his dad, an inspiring talented guy. Taken too young.
You can find one of his last interviews before his death on youtube, which is an encouraging if slightly sad watch. Paul Bowle’s book The Sheltering Sky Lee quotes about mid way through the interview is also well worth your attention.
